I didn't begin cooking until my junior year, when I transitioned away from dorm life. As I was learning, I realized how much I had been missing my whole life from not cooking. In addition to being able to tailor your food to your own desires, I've found that cooking is a prime combination of science and art. There is definitely a skill to picking and choosing the right amount of the right ingredients. Then, once you combine them together, it's amazing witnessing how science concepts, such as diffusion and solvation, finish the work!
